There's not one, but two Chromecast promotions going on right now that when combined end up being quite a deal.  First off, Google is offering any new Chromecast or Chromecast Audio buyer $20 in free Google Play Credit to use for your choice of music, movies or apps.   This offer is good for all new Chromecast purchases as long as they are activated by January 2nd, 2016.  But that's not all.  BestBuy is also offering their own promotion.  You can save $5 on a single Chromecast (now $30 instead of $35) or $15 on two Chromecast or Chromecast Audios when bought together for just $55 for both.  If you consider in addition to this discount you factor in the $20 in Google Play credit you're in effect getting two Chromecasts for $35...the normal price of one.  The Google Play Credit is good no matter where you purchase your new Chromecast as long as it's activated by 1/2/2016.  We've included the link below to Best Buy's Chromecast page where you can get this deal.  Then, once your Chromecasts arrive simply set them up and navigate over to Google's Chromecast page to redeem for your free $20 in Google Play Credit!

As we approach the holidays, many major retailers are holding their annual 'Cyber Week' deals and specials for online shoppers especially for anything related to technology but also for non-tech categories as well such as household items, clothes and more.  For those too busy to take advantage of the Black Friday sales of last week this is your 'next best' chance to order discounted gifts for the holiday season and take advantage of the sales to stock up or buy that item you've been waiting for.  We've included links below to some of the most well-known large 'Cyber Week' participants so use these links to check out the great deals and enjoy saving some cash!.

If there's something just about anyone will like for a holiday present it's a super fast MicroSD card with lots of memory for their tablet, phone or camera.  Lucky for us Amazon right now has a promotion on Sandisk and Samsung MicroSD cards that are it's lowest prices EVER.  How low?  How about only $9.95 for 32GB, $17 for 64GB, 128GB for only $40 and get this...their super huge and fast 200GB Sandisk card only $99...which is the lowest price we've ever seen anywhere by a large margin.  Now granted for most people 200GB might be overkill for a phone or tablet but personally at these prices we should all stock up on the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB sizes.  imagine having hundreds of movies, thousands and thousands of pictures and songs at your fingertips without having to go to the cloud or move things from your desktop.  Load up at the link below and buy some for all your relatives and friends.

Do you have a link for that?  Is much known about the G5 yet?

'Cyber Monday' is typically known as the day Amazon and other tech retailers pull out all the stops to drop prices and get customers to empty their pockets.  This year, Amazon is starting their tech deals earlier than usual with some deals already appearing on the site over a week early.  We've provided a link below so you can browse all the Amazon tech deals and we'll be updating it daily all the all the way through Cyber Monday and throughout Cyber Week.  We'll be highlighting particularly cool deals for LG and Android lovers as we find them and if you discover one first please post a direct link and a comment in the comments section below.  Happy shopping everyone as holiday season approaches and we all start buying presents for both our loved ones...and ourselves. :)

G4 Accessories / G4 and G3 accessories

Are the G4 and G3 interchangeable as far as accessories or is it too much of a difference and won't fit the old G3 stuff?

G4 Cameras, Pictures & Audio / G4 vs. G3 Camera in low light situations
« on: November 05, 2015, 05:10:35 PM »
I'm curious if any members have compared the G4 camera in low light to the G3 and what your thoughts are.  Is the improvement big enough to warrant upgrading or is it negligible?  Anyone?

I'm still using my G3 and will hold onto it until the G5 as well.  It serves my needs.  I am a bit envious of that camera on the G4 though...would like the low light ability.  But I'll hold out...I think  :o

Google held their annual Android event last week and along with some new phones and other hardware they debut'd the latest version of Android, dubbed 'Marshmallow' or Android 6.0.  'Marshmallow' promises to improve battery life up to 30% for just about all devices that run on it which will be a nice perk if it holds true.  It also includes a host of new features and further refinements of old including 'contextual assistance, privacy and security features, Android Runtime (ART), productivity, system usability improvements, connectivity and storage improvements and much more.  You can find out much more about Android Marshmallow at Google's Android's Marshmallow Site Here.

Once again one of our favorite tech reviewers, Lisa Gade from MobileTechReview.com gives us a nice detailed video review of LG's newest flagship, the G4.  So what did you think?  Well in a nutshell she really likes the leather back that came with one of her early units but isn't as crazy about the plastic backed version.  She's also a big fan of the new camera, calling it one of the best in the smartphone world, although it still won't give your dedicated DSLR a run for its money. The new camera features the largest image sensor in its class...beating out competitors like the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy S6 as well as M9 by HTC.  Lisa also says the new QHD 5.5 inch display on the G4 is absolutely fantastic with punchy colors and better brightness than last year's model.  Of course the deal sealer is the fact that unlike some of its main competitors the G4 retains the MicroSD card slot as well as removable battery.  There's lots more including photo samples and a look at the UI in the video above.

Noted tech leaker @evleaks has released some final artwork promotional material for the upcoming LG G4 flagship phone that is due to be released on April 28th.  The photo shows a genuine leather back which reportedly comes in several shades in addition to the standard plastic backs.  The camera will have an f1.8 lens for enhanced low light capability and will have a new 2nd generation optical image stabilization.  Gladly, the G4 will also have a removable 3,000mAh battery as well as a microSD slot so fears of LG following Samsung with their non-removable batter and no micro SD have been allayed.  The display will be a 5.5 inch QHD display.  Other tidbits such as pricing and a few other specs will have to wait till the 28th but this is looking to be a winner.

LG is expected to release the latest iteration of their flagship phone, the G4 at the end of April.  There's been a lot of buzz as to what we can expect with the hardware of the G4 and now we've also got some images that reportedly show the new phone.  Above is an image that purports to show the naked G4 with it's new slightly curved facade.  Below is another image, this one from GSMarena showing the G4 with a case made by Verus.

Specs of the LG G4 also apparently leaked recently through the testing site GFXBench.  Here's what we know so far as to the hardware specs we'll be seeing with the G4.  While none of this is confirmed it's a pretty safe bet we'll see:  a 5.5 inch screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution which matches the G3 display, a 15 megapixel rear and 7 megapixel front camera, Snapdragon 808 processor along with Adreno 418 GPU with 3GB of RAM.  Overall the look of the G4 seems to be similar to its predecessor with the back up, down and power buttons.  The G4 looks to be an incremental upgrade over the G3.  The two things we're hoping to see better performance out of are the camera with a new sensor and the battery, which we're hoping lasts a bit longer.
