APN settings

I have a problem no one, even LG repair can't seem to fix. I received an LG G6 from some people who were done with their Sprint contract. The phone was unlocked and I had it setup up with AT&T. The phone worked fine for about 4 months. I then decided to set-up the fingerprint reader. Everything was fine for about 3 weeks and then one day, after using the phone at lunch, it told me that it 'Couldn't use the fingerprint reader' at the end of the work day. The only way I could even get the phone to turn on was to do a physical 'Factory Reset' using the buttons. After that everything went to pot. I proceeded to rebuild 'my phone' but when it got to using it to make calls, it wouldn't. I did a lot of checking online and eventually found my way to the APN page. As it stands right now, after two trips to the LG repair service in Ft. Worth Texas, it still appears that I can't delete or add any new APN's which means I can not use anyone's service. Both times that LG has sent me the phone back they have put in a new sim card tray with a Sprint sim card in it. When you go to the APN page with that card inserted it shows two APN's , both of which are grayed out and according to internet searching it says there is supposed to be a '+' sign in the upper right hand corner to be able add new carrier information. There is now + sign up there which seems to indicate no ability to add any. While the phone worked, it worked great. I loved it! It was the best smart phone I have had to date. But this is all getting so frustrating that I am seriously considering going with another brand of phone.
