Placing a call

My phone was working fine yesterday, today when I try to place a call my screen says "emergency calls only". What have I done?!? Help!!!

At this point, it can be a number of possibilities (you didn't give us much to go on).

What I would try first is to re-seat your SIM card.  You didn't say what carrier you are with, but if with a GSM carrier (AT&T, T-Mo, etc.), first turn off your phone (hold down power button to see the shutdown screen.  Use the SIM door tool that came with your G2, and remove the SIM from the SIM tray; re-seat the SIM card into the SIM tray, put the SIM tray back into the phone.  Power on the device (hold down the power button again) and see if you still have the same problem.
