want to connect an LG G2 to a tv?
« on: June 13, 2014, 08:05:25 PM »
I appreciate having the ability to share my phone's screen to a big screen tv.  When I bought my G2 I expected it to connect with MHL through the USB like it's  predecessor the optimus G. I then was told I should use MIRACAST(wireless HDMI), so I gave the Netgear  ptv3000 a try, there was a significant delay and I couldn't get the sound to sync up.  I just heard good news that there is an adapter out there called Slimport.  It is the same idea as MHL with high quality picture and sound.  I had a hell of a time finding this out.

My previous phone, a Motorola droid bionic, used a mini hdmi  cable sepperate from the USB. It worked great until whatever you were doing overtaxed the device. It ran a version of Ubuntu Linux as a sort of a desktop OS.

After some research I found that slimport is the next step after MHL, capable of 4K HD picture including 3D and 8 channel audio. Also it's capable of still using the usb port for OTG (on the go). Meaning you can use a big screen and a peripheral device like a wired controller or a printer, keyboard, ect...
