Purchased LG G2 Vzw today ( Long Island )
« on: September 29, 2013, 08:25:39 PM »
I have been playing a waiting game for 4 years and finally have a phone ;=)
I had a LG flip phone back in 2006 and loved it so LG had a good rep for me. Went with a Droid X in 2009 and just sold it last month.

I have wanted a bunch of phones and then dismissed each along the way due to a bad review, feature or a size or a battery removable vs. non-removable issue and so forth. I was also very cautious as did not want to lose my unlimited at VZW too hastily.
I bought a nexus 7 2013 and love it but still wanted a phone. After borrowing my brother's old droid 2 to keep my unlimited acct at VZW intact, I knew that it soon had to end as that screen was too small and I wanted to have 4G. Did not need a giant phablet but at least a 5 inch.

I had seen the LG G2 at AT&T as I was considering moving into my family's plan seeing as I was going to lose my unlimited anyway and had some concern as the edges on the bezel very very sharp. I never found out of that was a fluke or not. The VZW unit had me concerned due to the different buttons.
I decided maybe to wait on the Nexus 5 coming up and wait yet again.

But today on FB someone posted on the profile that the VZW website was taking orders and allowing the unlimited data on upgrades to stay intact.
I ordered and picked up in store and here I am ;=)
I even bought the wireless charger.

So far it's very nice. I still think the colors are a bit off for my taste. Sort of like the LCD is trying to emulate some of the AMOLED displays. They ought to forget that and be more true to color. But it is a very nice display.

The interface is a bit busy and I am not totally adjusted to it but it has a lot of nice features. but I think maybe I will put apex launcher on it as is on my Nexus and see how that works. I like the drawing features as it is nice to have but I did not need a Note3 type phone with so much writing capability. Re the buttons...I thought I'd like the others better but now that I have it, these are fine.
I like that the pop3 email app has a select all and I will not have to install an alternative app.

Glad to see a forum dedicated to the phone.
