Video closeups
« on: December 29, 2013, 10:03:30 AM »
Has anybody experienced out-of-focus video shots when zooming in? Are there any tips on how avoid this?
Thanks.

Out of focus on videos can happen when G2's video app "guesses wrong" on what part you want to be in focus.  You can define where you want the focus to be after zooming in by touching the area that you want focused.  For example, if there are performers you are video'ing on a stage and you want to zoom in, the G2 will make it's best guess on where you want the focus to be.  If you wanted to focus on a person in the second row, for example, you can touch that person in the second row and the G2's video app should focus on that person.

That's how it's supposed to work; but I haven't taken many videos.  Perhaps someone with more experience will confirm if this works or not.

Always make sure your lens is spotless or it defeats the cameras focus feature.
