Entering voice commands into the keyboard.
« on: February 05, 2014, 12:00:28 AM »
I want to post to Facebook by speaking the words.   Can I do this with the G2 ?   On my previous cell phone there was a microphone button on the keyboard to enter text by speaking.

Are you using the stock LG Keyboard?  There should be a setting to Enable Voice input. Let us know if you can't find it and we can walk you through it.

Edit: from Settings, go to Language & Input, to the right of LG Keyboard (if that is what you are using), click the Gear icon.  Is the checkmark next to Voide Input on?

Thanks for the help on this, but for me, there was one additional step. The problem I had, was that the "Voice Input" check box was checked, but the microphone didn't show up on the keyboard, and the "Voice Input" option was (and still is) greyed out and can't be changed. Following your steps, I also noticed an additional option when I got to Language & Input  screen. That was "Google voice typing." The check box for this was unchecked, so as an experiment, I checked it, and now the microphone shows up on my keyboard, and it works perfectly.  :)
