It's official.  Today, a week short of the MWC Conference in Barcelona the company officially introduced its new phone the G Pro 2 in Korea.  Many of the rumors were correct with the device sporting a 5.9 inch Full HD display, Sound Boost system with a full 1W of power providing 30% louder sound than the G2 and more bass, a Snapdragon 800 processor running at 2.26GHZ, 13MP camera with OIS+ for even better image stabilization, 4K Ultra HD video recording, as well as 120FPS HD and slo-mo editing, a 3200 mAh battery, 3GB of ram and a special 'Knock Code' that let's you unlock your phone by tapping one of tends of thousands of patterned knocks and much more.   The G Pro 2 also features the same rear button setup we've come to expect and is seen in the G2 and G Flex.  In addition the lens and sensors of the phone's camera have been increased compared to the G2 for even more impressive picture quality.  Available in white, black and titanium colors the G Pro 2 will be on hand during MWC for the tech press to play with.  No word yet on pricing and availability but we should get that info during MWC at the end of the month..

Now an interesting note about the G Pro 2 is that it's not necessarily meant to replace the G2.  It is more a 'big brother' to compete with such large screen phones as the Galaxy Mega and the Galaxy Note phablet and should be available along with the G2 simultaneously.   No word if the upgrades like OIS+ will be worked into the current G2 model or not.  Let us know your thoughts on this new large screen phone and new member of the G family in the comments below.
