Sync is currently experiencing problems
« on: December 01, 2014, 02:00:30 PM »
Cannot access GMail, Play Store or any other Google function. Trying to log on gets me a msg. that I'm using an invalid password. No, that password works fine on PCs. Checking in Accounts & sync there is a message that 'Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.' Well, no it won't. Message has been there for 3 days. A web search tells me that there is an app on the store, but that's no help.  AT%T G2 with Android 4.4.2

Thanks,
SFPete

I know you're an experienced user, so assume that you rebooted, etc.

Usually, that message indicates a problem with contacts or calendar (not the most intuitive message though, eh?), usually a corrupted record or field that the web version of the contacts/calendar doesn't have a problem with but the device does.

If it's been three days, I would log into google (gmail/calendar) from the PC and do a restore from say, five days ago.  Then just add in any new contacts that are missing that you may have added in the past week.  Not quite so simple with the calendar if you are constantly adding appointments but overall very little to lose.  Do contacts first and see if it solves the issue -- then you need not mess with the calendar.

Good luck!
